Each year, Burundi joins the rest of the world in celebrating International Tree Day, an important occasion for Burundi dedicated to environmental protection and the promotion of reforestation. This day also symbolizes the country’s commitment to combating land degradation, climate change, and biodiversity loss.


The unfavorable socioeconomic context for the development of the entire Burundian society is a major challenge for both short- and long-term development. Young people, as an active population representing a significant proportion of the overall population, are particularly affected.

SADC is inviting applications for the recruitment of a Gender-Based Violence (GBV)
Coordinator in accordance with the SADC Statutes, its GBV Strategy, and its Strategic Plan.
